Skittles are Victorious!
Congrats to the Fruity/Chewy Party on winning the Candy Election - Skittles had the most votes from our election yesterday. We celebrated (like good sports) and each got a bag of Skittles.
We are super excited to start our unit on the Human Body. You guys already know SO MUCH about body systems from 1st and 2nd Grade, and you are blowing your teachers away with your knowledge. BUT, none of us are doctors yet, so we know there is plenty more to learn. In science, we started the Life-Sized Body Systems Challenge. Our groups are working together to draw out the circulatory, skeletal, muscular, digestive, nervous, and respiratory systems. These will go on display in the hallway so we can show off what we've been learning - and we can't wait to show them off!
In math, we worked on the break apart and distribute strategy with cubes. Since our 6s, 7s, and 8s facts are kinda tricky, we can use this strategy to solve them a lot faster! Don't forget to use your friendly fives to help you!
In reading, we got to start rotations! We did paragraph writing with Mrs. Day, read Chapter 1 in our Little Reader with Mrs. Meridith about the skeletal system, and practiced our spelling words with Miss Gurley at Word Work! The day flew by and before we all knew it, it was time to clean and pack up!
