Math State Assessment Part 2, Mystery Science, & Area/Perimeter
Hey, hey 3rd grade! It was another awesome day. We began our morning with our usual meeting and announcements and then we went outside for a quick brain break before we began our 2nd Math State Assessment.
Once everyone was finished with their test, we went outside for another brain break recess. Next, Miss Erica was here for an Exploration Place science lesson. Today you were engineers and designed your own airplane wing. For a bonus ticket, comment below if you wanted your wing to have drag or lift and why.
During science we met with Mystery Doug to continue learning about plants and pollination. You learned about why certain plants grow fruit. Tomorrow, we will continue the lesson and play a game called Science Fruit or Science Vegetable? It will be your job to think like a plant scientist and figure out what's a fruit and what's a vegetable.
For today’s math lesson we continued constructing rectangles with given perimeters. You started by finding half of the perimeter, then wrote addition sentences that equaled that number. The numbers in these addition sentences are the lengths and widths of the rectangles.
At the end of the day, you were able to get back outside for another recess.
Have a great evening, we will see you in the morning!
