Happy Valentine's Day!
Welcome to another fun week in 3rd grade! This morning we started a brand new reading unit - Astronomy: Our Solar System and Beyond. During this unit you will learn all about outer space and the study of outer space called astronomy. In today’s read-aloud we focused on our planet Earth. What characteristics make Earth “just right” for life on the planet?
You continued learning about astronomy in Mrs. Day’s group when you sequenced solar and lunar eclipses. You also read more about the sun, earth, and our solar system in your little readers with Mrs. Meridith.
Your spelling rotation will look a little different from now on. You will now have either 10, 15, or 20 words that you need to study. The word list that you are given will be the words on your spelling test, however we still want you to recognize the spelling patterns and not just memorize the words and forget them as soon as your test is over :)
After recess, you came back to the classroom for a PIZZA PARTY! Then you continued working on your Chocolate Box Fractions.
For specials you went to PE and had STEAM time in library. Next, you returned to the classroom and completed a menu activity or went to prime time, then completed lessons on Dreambox.
At 2:30 it was finally time for our Valentine’s Day Party. It was awesome!! Thank you so much to the parent volunteers who helped make this day so special and fun!
Have a great night! Don’t eat too much candy ;)
