Fast Friday

Happy FRI-YAY 3rd graders! We began our day with a morning meeting where we greeted each other with air high fives, learned the astronomy fact of the day, and had a special show and tell from our star students of the week. Next it was time to listen to our Astronomy read-aloud.

In today’s read-aloud, you learned more about our solar system and stars. Our solar system is just one planetary system located in one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way Galaxy. Who remembers the definition of a galaxy? Leave a comment with the correct answer for a bonus ticket!

During reading rotations you worked on the main idea of a story with Mrs. Day, read a short story and answered comprehension questions with Mrs. Meridith, and took your spelling test with Miss Gurley and Miss Malorie.

After recess and lunch you took your weekly times test. Then you continued working on your magnetic locks. This required you to engage in the engineering design process to test and improve your designs. Several of you made successful designs, way to go!

During math rotations you solved one and two step problems involving graphs, spent technology time on Dreambox or Reflex, and finished your menu activities for the week or went to Math Prime Time.

At the end of the day, we switched your seats. You will be in these seats until after spring break.

It was another fantastic week in 3rd grade! Enjoy your weekend!
