Classroom Campout!
Updated: May 18, 2021
Helloooo 3rd graders! Once again, we were worried the rain would keep us inside, but it turned out to be the perfect day to have a classroom campout and go to Donut Bay! We beat the rain - just barely!
Before we left for our walking field trip to Donut Bay, we finished up presenting Passion Projects. Next, we practiced your fractured fairy tale plays - you will present these tomorrow! After play practice, you transformed your desks into "tents" by using pillows and blankets. We turned out the lights and you used flashlights to read Mo Willems books with a partner. Before we knew it, it was time to walk to Donut Bay!
Once we made it to our destination, you ate delicious grilled hot dogs and yummy smores. You enjoyed kickball, swinging, and exploring the area before we broke out the fishing poles. We have quite the fishermen (and women) in our class! After spending some time fishing and/or playing sand volleyball, we needed to pack up and head back to school!
We made it back to school right before it started to downpour rain, phew! We continued our campout by watching the Parent Trap under your desk tents. Once the movie was over, it was time to go home.
Have a great evening 3rd graders, see you all in the morning!
